P. C. Webb, to-day. I A notice has been gazetted requiring all employers to operate their un- | dertakings and all workers to work on | King’s Day in very essential or declared undertaking where a controller has issued to the employer a direction to that effect. Workers engaged on King’s Day will be paid holiday rates. Employers directed as above who fail to operate their undertaking, or any workers who absent themselves from work without reasonable excuse will make themselves liable to a penalty under the emetgency regulations.
