RELEASE OF SOLDIERS ADVOCATED A decision to support the following resolution received from the Inglewood County Council was agreed to at the ,monthly meeting of the Waitotara County Council yesterday:— “That Ike council, viewing with grave concern the existing policy of withdrawing from industry for home defence forces for the duration of the war the available manpower reqw.ed to maintain the country's stability, recommend the Government that, after a period of training, men should be returned to industry and to their homes with full military equipment. They should then become members of a militia, incorporating Ihe tlc<ie Guard, such military organisation to be compulsory and to be kept at an efficient level by compulsory attendance at parades.”
