CHRIST CHURCH MOTHERS’ UNION
The monthly meeting of members was held on Thursday last and was very well attended. The service in Ihe'uhurot was conducted by the Rev. W. G. Bird, who spoke on the campaign for Christian order. 'those present then adjourned to lhe schoolroom, where Mis. Lambert spoke further on lhe campaign and urged members to be regular in theii attendance ior the next live months and Io take part in the discussion groups and prayer circles being formed to discuss papers which won In ; arrive shortly. An interesting paper, written by Rev. J. Jermyn giving suggestion's for meetings, was read. The speaker also gave an outline oi ’ he visit to Wellington to attend the ' diocesan executive meeting, where much interest was shown in the preparations lor the campaign, many . most helpful suggestions being 5 brought forward. Mrs. C. P. Brown thanked Mrs. ’ Lambert for her address. Members of other branches in the ■ archdeaconry have been invited to , the June meeting, which is the birth- ; day meeting of this branch. At this J meeting the first of the papers will . be read and discussed, lhe papers ’ being “Do You Know?” t There will also be an admission 5 service. I It was announced that on the secj ond Wednesday in June a quiet day t for officers and members will be helu . at All Saints’ Church, the day opening with a celebration of the Holy Communion at 11 a.m. Intercession will be at 1.30 p.m. and afternoon service at 2.30 p.m. Hostesses tor the afternoon were Mesdames F. Rule, T. Russell, E. B. Cooke. Latimer and Miss Sutton. Miss J. Sewell was in charge of the creche.
