RATA-PUTORINO W.D.F.U.

The Rata and Putorino W.D.F.U. met on Thursday afternoon, when the ninth birthday of the branch was celebrated. There were many visitors from Marlon and Hunterviile. After a short meeting presided over by Mrs C. Raine, a social hour was enjoyed. An amusing competition was won by Mrs. Carlyle, after which afternoon tea was served, this being made b> division members. A large birthday cake, the gift of Mrs. Alton Rhodes, was cut by Mrs. Duncan Simpson, who expressed pleasure in the occasion and wished the branch much success. A display ot autumn Howers was much admired, the prize for a decorated bowl being won by Mrs S. Hart, with Mrs. N. Signal and Mrs. A. Diehl second. Mrs. Carlyle expressed the thanks of the guests for a pleasant afternoon. Songs by Mrs. Alton Rhodes and Miss Zeta Harvey were much enjoyed. Members of the branch are reminded of the annual dance in Rata Hall on Tuesday, May 12.
