Mr Bradley, who arrived in New Zealanfrom Burma in October, 1941. server during the last war in the Roya Flying Corps. The death occurred last week at hi. home in Karori of Mr. C. C. F. J. Beil who was well known in educationa and Masonic circles in Otago. For 4’ years Mr. Bell taught under the Otagi Education Board, as headmaster of tin Lee Stream, Manuka Creek, Moeraki and Shag Point, schools. He was < prominent Dunedin Freemason, bcin; past-master of Lodge Haeremai, pas master and life member of Researci Lodge, and he held high office in th( Maori Royal Arch Chapter. Mrs. Mary Signal, who died at her home, Pitt Street, on Saturday, wa. the founder of the ladies' committee of the Wanganui Garrison Band, her husband, Mr. Stephen Signal, beiny a prominent, member of the band foi many years. Reference to Mrs. Signal's services were made at a practice of the band last night, when u motion of sympathy witn the relatives was carried. The conductor. Mr. J. Bevin, said the ladies’ committee had functioned .successfully ever since, due mainly to the initial work carried out. by Mrs. Signal. The secretary, Mr. H. J. Hall, also paid a tribute to her services. The death occurred recently at Wellington of Mr. Charles Thomas Bargh Born in 1858, at Wray, Lancaster. Mr Bargh served his apprenticeship tc mechanical engineering in Lancaster He joined the New Zealand Railway* staff al Addington in 1880, subsequently transferring to Dunedin. Ir June, 1893, he took up a position a* works manager with the WellingtonManawatu Railway Company, and remained there till the line was acquiree by the Government in 1908. He then occupied the position of locomotive inspector at A. and G. Price and Co. Thames, who were building the A clas* locomotives. In 1912 he was appointed workshop manager of the Petonc shops, and in 1920 workshop manager al. East Town. He retired in June. 1921.
