BERLIN, April 19.—Field-Marshal Goering, in a statement on the eve of Hitler’s birthday, declared that it would have been more logical if .he opposing nations had united with Germany in a common front to protect Europe from the destructive rage of Bolshevism. The Fuhrer had repeatedly called on them to co-operate, and patiently tried to convince them and begged for their understanding. STOCKHOLM, April 21. Japan has appointed Commander Mishina, formerly attache at Vichy, as naval attache to Sweden. The duty was formerly undertaken by the Berlin naval attache. Commander Mishina will have a staff of shipping specialists. Four Japanese newspaper correspondents have also arrived in Sweden. LONDON. April 20.—The Swedish liner Drottningholm is leaving Sweden to-night for New York to embark Axis diplomats and journalists for Lisbon, where she is to nick up 154 United States diplomats and journalists for New York The Drottningholm has the painted word “Diplomat" lit up by forty floodlights and is taking a secret route.
