DEFENCE WORKS

TO PROCEED ON ANZAC DAY (P.A.) Wellington, April 21. On Anzac Day, whicn fails on Saturday of this week, work on all urgent defence works will proceed, and controllers have already directed the various undertakings engaged on urgent defence works to this effect, states Mr. James Fletcher, Commissioner of Defence Construction. Workers employed will be entitled to appropriate rales of payment as prescribed by the awards or emergency orders, whichever apply.
