ROOSEVELT MAY MEDIATE THINLY VEILED THREAT OF FORCE (Ey Telegraph—Presi Association—Copyright.) (Recd. 9.55 p.m.) New York, April 5. The United Pres, of America Chungking correspondent at Chungking says that President Roosevelt is being asked to mediate in an effort to prevent the collapse of Indian negotiations. (Recd 10.5 p.m.) London, April 4. A New Delhi message says the Congress Party working committee issued a statement that it was unable to advise the country to accept Sir Stafford Cripps’ proposals. Mr. Jinnah said: ' There may be shortcomings in the British declaration on India, but our firm determination and only goal is Pakistan. It is not a question of their giving it. We will take it. The Moslem League is now an organisation not of hundreds of thousands but millions.”
