FLASHED THROUGH ETHER

PHOTO FROM AUSTRALIA TO AMERICA (Recd 7.30) New York, March 21. The New York Daily News prints the first radio-photograph ever dashed direct, to the United States from Australia. The picture shows the Army Minister, Mr. F. M. Forde, chatting with American soldiers from Texas. Previously radio - photos were transmitted via London. This was sent from Melbourne to San Francisco and then wire-photographed to New York. The new system means a tremendous saving in time and is particularly welcome at present, when the eyes of all Americans are focussed on Australia.
