MR. W. MORRISON APPOINTED PRESIDENT LONG AS ;OCIATION WITH LOCAL BODIES Mr. W. Morrison, chairman of the Waitotara County Council has been appointed ' ( ‘>re.siden: of the New Zealand Counties’ Association, of which he has been a member of the executive for 20 years and also a \ iceoresident. Born in Wanganui in 1869. Mr. Morrison was educated in Maxwell and Wanganui. He has been in the Maxwell district since 1873. and has farmed there for nearly 50 vears. He became a member o c the Waitotara Countv Council in 1905 and has been chairman since 1918. O h n r bodies on which he has served, or is serving, are: - W. nganui-RangitT. i Electric-power Board. Wanganui District. Intermediate Credits Board New* Zealand Counties’ Association. Main Highways Board. Wanganui Harbour Board (member for 27 years chairman eight years). Board of Agricul- : lure advi c orv commbtee of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union. He also held a commission in lhe : Queen Alexandra Moun ed Rifles ’ Regiment and Second Wellington Mounted Rifles Regiment.
