Ihe Rata Returned Services' Association annual picnic, which is to be held on the Rata lootball ground to-mor-row (Sunday). The committee have arranged a very attractive programme of events, including races for young and old and many novelty events, and assure intending patrons ol a very enjoyable day. Hot water is being provided on the grounds. RANGITIKEI CRICKET. The following team will represent Marton Club in their match against Air Force, to be played on the County grounds at Marton to-day:—L. Smith, W. Sanders, G. Birch, D. Sladden, P. Corballis, E. Henderson, L. Hamer, 1. Barion, B. Smart, B. Grade, R. Lewis; 12th man, E. Bailey. CHURCH SERVICES The morning service at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Marlon, and the afternoon service at Tutaenui to-morrow, will be taken by Mr. G. Snadden, of Hunterville. Mr. F. Osborn, of Marlon, will he the preacher at the Marton evening; service. Mr. S. E. Bush will be the preacher at the Gospel Hall, Marton, to-mor-row evening at 7 o'clock. Harvest Thanksgiving Services will be held at the Methodist Church, Marton. to-morrow at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. Rev. C. B. Jordan. M.A., 8.D., will be the preacher. The Lutheran Church will also hold their Harvest Thanksgiving Services to-morrow. Rev. M. R. R. Heidrich wil be taking the services. CIVIC THEATRE, MARTON. “FREEDOM RADIO." Clive Brook and Diana Wynyard, who will forever be renowned for that mighty epic, "Cavalcade,” some years ago, the firm deals with the efforts of a small group of students in Germany to convey tfio truth about the ruthless Nazi parly to their enslaved countrymen. Clive Brook is seen at the head of the Freedom Station, while Diana Wynyard, portraying his beautiful and beloved young wife, believes in the Fuhrer, and is torn between loyalty to her husband and to her country.
