SECOND APPRAISAL TO-DAY OFFERING OF 21.953 BALES. A catalogue of 24.953. considered highly satisfactory, was offered when the Government valuers began the second Wanganui wool appraisal of the current season yesterdav. 'The catalogue al the secund appraisal of the 1940-41 season was 23.0U0 bales. The first appraisal of the current season was held on November 21. when the offering. 10.046 hales, compared with 11.925 for the corresponding valuation in the previous season, was smaller rhan expected because of broken weather retarding shearing operations. Since the first appraisal this year, however, fine weather has enabled many sheds to complete I heir shearing and during the past week wool has been arriving at city stores in large quantities. It was stated yesterday that the wool was opening out well, with some good early and main clips. The number of bales being offered by the various brokers is:— Freeman R. Jackson and Co.. Ltd.. 3087.
