ST. GEORGE’S PREPARATORY LIST OF PRIZE-WINNERS There was a large attendance of parents and friends at the prizegiving at St. Georges Preparatory School on Friday afternoon The guest of honour was the Bishop ol Wellington. Rt. Rev H. St. Barbe Holland. Others present included Colonel R S. Wilson. M.C., Army Headquarter Wellington. Dr. M M. Earle. Mr J H. Salmon. S.M . and repieientatives of the Board of Governors of the Wanganui Collegiate School. Th*headmaster. Mr. M Fell, presided. During the gathering several items were given by the pupils, which were much enjoyed by thus.- praiT.t, Thirty pupils, members Of the BoScout Movement, received eertilicatfor passes in first aid examinations of the St. John Ambulance Society. The Bishop of Wellington, in hiaddress, said that each hoy attending it should strive to make the school the best preparatory school in the country. He said that when he entered the school to-day he was struck by the vitality that existed. •'Where does this vitality come I from?” he asked. "The very name of the school tells you that St. George! St. George of England! Some of your fathers are to-day giving their lives to preserve the gateway of life.
