BAN ON HORSE-FLOATS
NO PETROL AVAILABLE (Press Assn.) Wellington. Dec. 12. It has been decided, in view of the present war situation, that petrol can no longer he made available for the passage of racehorses, either by public carriers or in privately-owned horse floats. This advice was received today by the secretary of the N.Z. Racine Conference. Mr. A. M. Mcßeath from the Commissioner of Transport Col. G. L. Laurenson. "I appreciate that this will mean a considerable readjustment in the racing world, but jn view of the present circumstances this action is unavoidable.” stated the commissioner.
