Men employed on the manufacture of munitions, other urgent war supplies and -amp construction work will have to oe held, and no doubt individual cases will ar.se in respect of key workers engaged in essential pioduction and services where it is clearly in the public interest to retain su h men in their civilian employment. I am sure everyone will appreciate the gravity ol the situation and vvil. realise that some disruption of industry is unuoidabl. I ircumstances rfectly satisfied that, having regard to the militaty situation, postponement from mobilisation •> warranted, apple anon should oe made at once to the local manpower committee. Every effort will be made to deal with these appeals immediately, out this may not be possible tn all cases, in which event the men concerned must report m accordance with their mobil£tt -n notices, unless temporary postponement is specifically authorised by the manpower committee secretary. Where appeals are subsequently sustained arrangemnts will be made to withdraw such men from camp. A special appeal is made to employers to make every effort to release any of their employees who have received notice to mobilise. If it is found necessary to ask foi postponement. having regard to ail the circumstances, then the local manpower committee must be advised without delay, so as to enable the appeal to be heard and dealt with at the earliest possible moment
