Mr. John Philp, deputy-superinten-dent of the Wellington City Fire Brigade, has been appointed superintendent of the Invercargill brigade b\ the Invercargill Fire Board.

Mr. G. Grey Campbell and Mr. Douglas Robb have been appointed Auckland Universit} College representatives on the board of governors of Massey Agricultural College.

Count Wodzicki. the Polish ConsulGeneral in New Zealand, is visiting Marton, where he will attend the prize-giving ceremony of the Nga Taw a school. Before returning on Saturday, he will visit Massey Agricultural College.

The Revs. G. K. Aitken and J. D. McKenzie, two ministers ot the Presbyterian Church, who died recently, were referred to at the Wanganui Piesbytery’s recent meeting. when resolutions of sympathy with the relatives were carried.

Mr. E. Renz, manager of Co-op Motor Supplies, Ltd., Wanganui, was unanimously elected chairman of the Petrol Section of the New Zealand Retail Motor Trade Association (Wanganui branch) to fill the vacancy caused by the death of Mr. D. W. Gilbertson.

Private A. H. Coe. of the Eleventh (Wanganui) Company of the National Military Reserve, was the guest at. a social gathering of No. 1 Platoon, at the home of the platoon commander. Lieutenant IL A. Gat ward. M.C.. St. John's Hill, last night when, to mark the guest's marriage, the platoon made a presentation of a cake stand.
