was arranged to pack the parcels on Monday, December 8. The parcels are to contain tinned tongues, tin soup, chewing gum, shaving stick, writing pad, two handerchiefs, barley sugar, two packets asprins, tinned oysters, and tin coffee and milk. The Mayor. Mr. F. Purnell, presided. end there was a good attendance. it was reported that returns for the art union up to date were £52. and a number of books were still to come in. It was reported that the following Knitted comforts had been despatched to the National Patrioic Fund Board: Air Force, pair sox; Navy, two pairs mittens, balaclava, scarf, sweater. Army. 74 hussifs. pullover. 68 mittens. 114 balaclavas. 39 scarves, two pairs sox. and a case of magazines and books. Letters were read from SquadronLeader E. C. Small, commanding officer of the N.Z. Air Force in Malaya, and H. V. Metham. Singapore. thanking the committee for parcels scut.
