MAJESTIC THEATRE
I "LITTLE NELLIE KELLY." Though she livens the story up with her vivacious singing, Judy Garland is cast in a rather more sombre role than that to which she is accustomed in "Little Nellie Kelly." which will i continue to-day at the Majestic ( Theatre. As the daughter of an Irish ( father she plays her part well, and in the purely dramatic side of aci’.ng l gains new honours. Her father is played by Charles Winninger, who is the outstanding figure. He plays the 11 part ot a stern old Irishman with a ’ chronic dislike for any sort of work, and who nurses a constant grudge I ! against the man who married his ' daughter and took her to America., “I Wanted Wings" Combining a story of adventure and romance with the exciting and fascinating chronicle of how a nation ’ is training its young men fin defence in the air, “I Wanted Wings.” Para- • mount s new aviation spectacle, com- ‘ mences a six-day season at the Ma- ‘ jestic Theatre on Friday. Hardly ever has a motion picture caused so much ’ excited talk among moviegoers, and J there is plenty of good reason for it. 1 To begin with, film fans seem to sense, with that indefinite instinct that ‘ many of them seem to possess, that ' Paramount has sent aloft an aviation ‘ picture perhaps of unsurpassed mag- ? nitude. 1
