SEVERE ELECTRICAL STORM MANAWATU DISTRICT AFFECTED (Press Assn.) Palmerston N., Sept. 27. Accompanied by hail and heavy rain, severe electrical storms lit up the city and surrounding countryside at 9.30 o’clock last night. No serious damage is reported, but there were numerous interruptions in the electric service in the area between Linton. Kairanga and Pohangina, transformer fuses being blown in a house at Linton and the meter blown from the switchboard. Most districts elsewhere report itorm conditions. A rise of 10 feet above low water level occurred in the Hutt River between noon and 4 p.m. j esterday. I
