BEAM SOUTH OF DUNKIRK KNOWN AS “BERTHA'S EYE” (Recd. 7.30 p.m.) London, Sept. 25. The Germans have installed .loutn of Dunkirk a very powerful searchlight which the British have nicknamed “Bertha's Eye.” Every clear night a great beam spreads fanwise across the 30 miles of water, lighting up a stretch of the English coast, and blinding motorists caught in the beam.—U.P.A.
