GIRLS’ COLLEGE BOARD

MONTHLY MEETING HELD TERMS FOR NEXT YEAR Il way reported at the monthly meeting of the Wanganui Girls’ College Board of Governors yesterday that the day roll of the college numbered 297. During the month six had left, and of these two are in offices, three in shops, and one at another school. The college reopened for the final term on September 16, but because of mumps and measles there were many absentees. Mr. H. C. Jenkins is continuing his term talks on current events and groups from the Technical College and Collegiate School are to form part of his audience in future. The appointment of Miss Muriel Hercus as assistant in the science laboratory was approved. Terms and holidays for next year were fixed as follows:—First term: Tuesday, February 3, to Friday, May 8. Second term: Tuesday, May 26, to Friday, August 21. Third term: Tuesday, September 15, to Friday, December 11. Those present at the meeting were Mr. G. S. Gordon (chairman), Mrs. E. M. Scott, Miss J. Currie, Dr. G. H. Robertson, Messrs. O. Hales, N. Annabell and E. F. Hemingway. Leave of absence was granted Mrs. J. C. Wickham and the Hon. W. J. Rogers, M.L.C.
