DEEP EFFECT ON MOSLEMS

GERMAN RAID ON CAIRO CITY REGARDED AS SACRED (Reed. 8.40 p.m.) Cairo, Sept. 18. The Minister of Passive Defence, Abdel Ahmen, has issued a statement declaring that the air raid on Cairo, on Monday, has produced a deep effect on Egyptians and also throughout Moslem countries, where Cairo is regarded as a sacred city. A German communique admits the attack and states that the planes bombed the aerodrome at Heliopolis but the distance between the city and the aerodrome is such that Cairo could not have been hit by bombs intended for the airfield.—U.P.A.
