A Berlin communique reports that the R.A.F. raided western, central and north-western Germany last night and dropped a "small number" of high-explosive bombs, some of which fell on dwellings in the suburbs of Berlin and caused a few dead and wounded. Ten of the raiders were shot down.—U.P.A. Raids on Germany last night were the most widespread of the war. Targets were found, in addition to those in Berlin, in Essen, home of the Krupp armament works, Hanover, the naval base at Kiel, Bremen and Osnabrock.

The raid on Berlin, although it carried with it the heaviest type of bomus, was on a smaller scale than usual.
