ROBERTSHAWE—COLEMAN j The wedding took place at Holy Trinity Church, Woodville, on August 2, when Frances Betty, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Coleman, of Woodville, was married to Denis Ralph, son of Mrs. L. M. 11. Coghill, of Wanganui, and the late Mr. R. H. Robertshawe, of Dannevirke. The ceremony was performed by Canon Noel F. E. Robertshawe, of Wellington, uncle of the bridegroom. The church had been beauti- j fully decorated with camellias and blossom. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a charming ensemble of spindleberry shade. A smart black hat with eye veil and flowers to tone and she carried a bouquet of cyclamen, daphne and maidenhair fern.. Miss Patricia Coleman attended her sister as bridesmaid, wearing an ensemble of cornflower blue, and a navy hat with eye veil, her bouquet being composed of pink carnations, daphne and maidenhair fern. Mr. Richard Robertshawe, brother of the bridegroom, was the best man, Private David Coghill carrying out the duties of usher at the church. The reception following was held at the residence of the bride’s parents. Mrs. Coleman wore a black and while frock, black astrakhan coat, black hat and accessories. Mrs. Coghill was wearing navy floral silk, navy hat and fur coat The bride and bridegroom left later by ear on their honeymoon and will take up their residence in Wanganui until Mr. Robertshawe joins the R.N.Z.A.F. to commence his training as a pilot.

GILBERTSON—REL St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, Wanganui, was the scene of a pretty wedding in the early afternoon of July 19, when Gladys May, eldijst daughter of Mrs. H. Reu, Harrison Street, Wanganui, and the late Mr. Reu, was married to George Donald, third son of Mr. and Mrs. David Gilbertson, Heads Road. The Rev. A. C. McLean officiated at the ceremony, and Mr. J. C. Thompson presided at the organ. The church was decorated with spring flowers. The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr. George Reu, wore a lovely gown of ivory embossed satin riche featuring a full bustle falling gracefully into a train. The shirred bodice with its V neckline had long sleeves, with the shoulder line fullness shirred down the centre and pointed at the wrists. Buttons finished the back of the bodice, and a spray of orange blossom was worn on the shoulder. Her veil of embroidered tulle was held in place with a coronet of orange blossom and she carried a shower bouquet of white spring bulbs, winter roses, camellias and maidenhair fern.

The bride’s sister, Miss Myrtle Reu, and the bridegroom’s cousin, Miss Mavis Gilbertson, were the bridesmaids and wore frocks of powder blue taffeta with yokes and sleeves trimmed with selt frills, and belts laced with dark blue velvet ribbon. Their headdresses were of matching pale blue and silver topknots, and their bouquets were of pink winter roses, daphne and camellias, blue iris and maidenhair fern. Mr. Joseph Gilbertson, brother of the bridegroom, was best man, and Mr. Donald Guy acted as groomsman. The reception was held at the Rendezvous. To receive her guests Mrs. Reu wore a navy blue costume and hat, fur stole and a cyclamen shoulder spray. Mrs. Gilbertson, mother of the bridegroom, wore a navy blue costume with blue and white accessories and fur stole. Her shoulder spray was of pink and cream flowers. For going away the bride chose a light teal blue double-breasted coat with bustle effect, prune-coloured frock, navy accessories, and wore a fur stole, the gift of the bridegroom.
