that the Wanganui Hospital Board wanted to install a 3 h.p. motor for the laundry at the Taihape Hospital, in place of the 1 h.p. motor.—The request was granted subject to the Wanganui-Rangitikei Electric Power Board's consent. Works Committee The following recommendations of the works committee were adopted: Controlling valve, water pressure, Mataroa Road. —That Mr. Bird be provided with a key and made responsible for the increasing of pressure in the event of a fire, and as a further precaution a further key be hander to the deputy fire brigade superintendent, and that the borough foreman instruct a member of the brigade in the method of increasing pressure. Taihape Retailers’ Association re parking of care in, borough streets.— That the Wanganui Automobile Association be requested to give permission to allow their patrol man, Mr. Stone, to educate the public in the manner of parking care. Petition, Toroa Street Residents.— That khe matter be left in the hands of the borough foreman to attend to. Roading Eagle Street. —That the foreman report on the cost of roading the unformed portion of Eagle Street. Water Chlorination. That the question of inspection of the Raetihi plant be heid over for a month. Battalion, Hawke’s Bay Regiment, desiring to rent two front rooms in the Town Hail downstairs and the use of the Town Hall for parades once weekly.—That the 2nd. Battalion, Hawke's Bay Regiment, be offered the use of an office downstairs, and storage space upstairs and the use of the Town Hall (for one parade), at a weekly rental of 255. Leases Municipal Reserves.—That a return be furnished meeting of the Finance Committee listing municipal reserves leased, the rent payable and the system of tenure.
