“ANDY HARDY’S PRIVATE SECRETARY" With Mickey Rooney giving one of his best performances as Andy, “Andy Hardy's Private Secretary,” which is screening to-day at the Majestic Theatre, introduces two promising newcomers. The first is Kathryn Grayson, 17-year-old coloratura soprano, who gives promise of being one of the outstanding stars of the coming year. In addition to playing the role of Andy's secretary, Miss Grayson sings three songs. The other youngster is Todd Karns, son of the popular comedian, Roscoe Karns. All of the members of the Hardy Family give their usual dependable performances. Lewis Stone, as Judge Hardy, is worked overtime in an effort to straighten the tangled affairs of his son. In addition to the latest airmail news, the supports include “Out of Darkness," a Passing Parade scries which deals with the publication of “La Libre Belgique” under the noses of the Nazis.
