INTOXICATED MOTORIST I MISCELLANEOUS CASES DEALT WITH Found in a state of intoxication while in charge of a motor-car in Keith Street on August 8. Vincent Joseph Ahern was convicted and fined £2O (costs £1 4s) and had his driver’s I licence cancelled for 12 months, in the Wanganui Magistrate’s Court yesterI day. Messrs. P. Lewis and J. P. Laird, j J’s.P., presided. i For driving without a current war- ; rant of fitness. Monty Edwards was [convicted and fined 10s (costs 10s). A fine of 10s (costs 10s) was imposed on Hakuoa Wiremo. who rode a bicycle at night without a light. Stole Piece of Wood Alan Arthur Lower, charged with i stealing a piece of wood, valued at 2s ! 6d. the property of Frederick Davis, ' was convicted and fined £l. • Frederick Davis said the wood was stacked against a fence at the back l of Purser’s. Ltd., premises. Some of '! the wood was found under a tank at ! Lower's home. He was given the op- ■ nortunity of paying for ii. but refused , to do so. [ Detective-Sergeant J. K. Robertson 'said that Lower made a statement adi milting taking the wood from over, the fence.
