PETROL FOR AUSTRALIA
SIX EXTRA TANKERS BRING 21,500,000 GALLONS (Recd. 11.30 p.m.) Melbourne, Aug. 11. Senator McLeay, Minister of Supply. announced that the Government had secured 'six extra tankers which would bring 21.500,000 gallons of petrol to Australia this year. In addition 80,000 drums of petrol would he shipped to Australia in freighters. He was unable to say whether the arrangements would be permanent. U.P.A.
