RECORD WARTIME AIR TRAFFIC
PASSENGERS AND MAILS (Rec. 8.55 p.m.) London. Aug. 8. Record wartime civilian air traffic was created recently when the British ( Airways had six services leaving the country and throe arriving from abroad reports the Aeroplane. The traffic figures for the day were: 100 passengers, 50,000 letters, 60001 bs. of miscellaneous freight. Airmail transit times have improved. Letters from Australia have arrived within a monFl? and some sent via the Pacific under three weeks.
