WANGANUI SPRING SHOW FOR 1941 HORSE, CATTLE AND SHEEP SECTIONS Special prizes donated to the Wanganui Agricultural and Pastoral Association for its 1941 Spring Show, to be held on Spriggens Park on Saturday. November 1, are:— Horse Section Cuthbertson and Lee Ltd., goods valued at £3 3s for be-t women rider, women’s hack; J. Williams and Co trophy valued at £5 ss. for winner of maiden hunter’s competition; J. Williams and Co. trophy, valued at £5 ss. for winner of women’s jump. Cattle Section Chilled Beef Championship.—N.Z. Red Poll Cattle Breeders’ Association, a first prize of £3 3s, and a second prize of f 2 2s. for best steer sired by a named registered Red Poll bull, and a premium of £2l if the winner also wins the championship. N.Z. Aberdeen Angus Cattle Breeders’ Association, a first prize of £5 ss. and a second prize of £3 3s for the best steer sired by an Aberdeen Angus bud. Fat Cattle. —F. R. Jackson and Co., present another silver challenge cup to replace the one won outright at the last show. Horefords <purebred). The N.Z. Hereford Cattle Breeders’ Association give a special prize of £2 2s to the winner of the points prize in this section. Aberdeen Angus (purebred)—Mr. F. Handley donates £3 for prizes for best yearling bull. Friesians (purebreds).—The Merewether Motor Co.. Masters has donated a silver cup for competition in special class for members of the Wanganui Jersey Cattle Club. Mr. C. J. Masters has donated £2 2s for special prizes in child’s calf class. R. and E. Tingey Ltd., have donated a 5-gallon drum of Tingey's barn paint as a special prize. Messrs. H.R. Beauchamp and Co. have donated two 5-gallon drums of Murton's dip as a special prize. Messrs. D. McFarlane and Co have donated goods to value of £2 2s as a special prize. Drew’s, Jewellers, have again donated a silver challenge cup for the winner of the export lambs competition (judging on showgrounds). Messrs. A. Body Ltd., have again donated a 5-gallon drum of Sherwin paint as a special prize. Farmers' Industries, Ltd., have donated two special prizes (each > value of £2 2s in goods) for the Southdown section.
