Parliament Bldgs., July 31. ■ Clarification and consolidation of the existing regulations is contained in the Defence Emergency Regulations, 1941, which are issued with toI night’s Gazette. i The mam purposes ot the proposed amendments are to provide for the enforcement of the provisions under which the Territorials and other 'members of the Defence Forces, inIchiding units of the National Military ■ Reserve, *an be called out for mi I’ll ary service in the defence of New •Zealand, and also to impose on Terri- ■ iorials, and other members of the Defence Forces, including units of the [.Military Reserce, and to provide for i the enforcement of further obligation ito undergo such training as might be | prescribed m Army or ders. 1 Another portion of th** regulations makes it an offence to fail tn render the military service or training required under th** draft regulations. and persons who commit such offence* are liable to imprisonment for three months, or to a fine not exceeding £25, and, if the offence continues, to a further fine of £5 per day.
