MOTOR VEHICLE WARRANT OF FITNESS

SAFETY COUNCIL’S SUGGESTION SHOULD BE PRODUCED BEFORE LICENCE IS ISSUED (Press Assn.) Wellington, July 29. In the opinion of the Road Safety Council the traffic regulations should be amended to make it a condition that a current warrant of fitness must be produced before the annual registration plates are issued. The council expressed high appreciation of the efforts of the educational authorities and teachers in endeavouring to educate children in road safety, the success of which is shown by the reduction in the number of accidents to children. The hope was expressed that similar good results would follow upon safety first education directe to school cyclists.
