WANGANUI MAN AS PRESIDENT
N.Z. REFEREES’ ASSOCIATION mr. w. r. McElwain elected Word lias been received from Wellington that Mr. W. R. McElwain. Wanganui, has been elected president of the Now Zealand Rugby Referees’ Association. Mr. McElwain has taken a keen interest in Rugby over a long period. He has been connected with the Wanganui Rugby Referees' Association for 30 years in all, and for 10 years has been secretary, which office be holds at. present. He has represented the association on the Metropolitan and Wanganui Rugby Unions for more than 10 years. Seven years ago ho was appointed a delegate to represent Wanganui on the New Zealand Rugby Referees' Association, and has attended conferences in both islands, going as far south as Invercargill and norlh as Gisborne. The executive of the New Zealand association consists of Messrs. G. E. Bradley (chairman), A. de Clifton J. Francis, J. Gilchrist. J. Moflitt. R. JPaton and J. A. Wilson. ,
