TACTICAL EXERCISES

WANGANUI HOME GUARD WEEK-END PARADES Wanganui Home Guard units will parade to-morrow. B Company (Mr. F. C. Jannings) and D Company (Mr. W. H. Cannan) will go to the South Spit. C Company (Mr. T. N. HayICampbell) and E Company (Mr. J. Cleland) will go to the Airport. The whole battalion will be on tactical exercises. The Engineers Company (Mr. E. A. Marchant) will train in their area and start a course of instruction in bridging. The Transport Section (Mr. C. Linwood) will parade under the usual

arrangements. The section will be inspected by Count K. A. Wodzicki, the Polish Consul-General,, on Gonjville Domain. | The Home Guard rally will be held in the Majestic Theatre to-morrow night, for the screening of films dealing with the German invasion of Poland. Guardsmen will wear armlets. E.P.S. TRAINING ■ The Works Company of the E.P.S. will train this morning, starting at 9 o’clock. Sections B and C will receive training in explosives. Instruction will be given to Section D in the construction of latrines. Section E will carry out practice on water valves and the isolation of mains. To-night the Works Company will hold a social for members in the' Savage Club Hall.
