RUGBY The following will repreesnt Bulls thirds against Flock House, on the latter’s ground, this afternoon, the bus leaving Bulls at 2 p.m.: J. Howard, N. Butler. L. Tostevin, H. Ellery, J. Warbrick. R Ellery. C. Green W. Riley, G. Watson, D. Green, N. Ellery. J. Hutton, G. Meads. J. Klatt and A. Bailey. BASKETBALL Bulls A team will play a friendly game against Marton A at Bulls School, commencing at 1.45 p.m. The Bulls side will be as follows: Z. Neale, Mrs. Haycock. E. Mullins, R. Hill M. Kearney, M. Hearne G. Cole, Mrs. Rankin and R. Ellery. GIFT EVENING A gift evening was tendered to Miss Phyllis Wicks at Bulls on. Tuesday by Mrs. O. Button and friends at the residence of Mr. J. C. Button, the opportunity being taken to wish Miss Wicks happiness in her approaching married life. There was a large crowd present, and an enjoyable time was spent in games and competitions. Miss Wicks was the recipient of many valuable and useful presents, and suitably replied, thanking her many friends for their good wishes and handsome gifts. BULLS HOME GUARD During the last two week-ends manoeuvres have been carried out in the northern portion of the area under the control of the Bulls Home Guard. These exercises have been of great value from the defensive point of view, as well as being very enjoyable to the members of the Guard who attended.
Good supplies of hot tea provided by the quartermaster have been much appreciated after a good morning's work across country. The afternoons have been occupied in distance judging and field movements. The signal section has been able to get some very usefu lexercise. working across coun-
During this week-end further exercises will be held in the neighbourhood of Flock House, the rendezvous being just on the Bulls side of Flock House homestead, where entirely new country will be operated over. These exercises are extremely' valuable to the members of the Home Guard, who are enabled to gain a knowledge of the country which they may be called on to defend. As seasonable work will shortly be in full swing, it is very necessary that members should attend these parades while their work permits them to give a reasonable amount of time in one day.
