THE WANGANUI SALE FAT SHEEP IMPROVE FREEMAN R. JACKSON'S REPORT Reporting on the Wanganui stock sale held yesterday Freeman R. Jackson and Company state that fat sheep came forward in better quality lhan of late and prices were slightly firmer. There was a light entry of fat catlie. which met with a good demand, and a good sale for store sheep. There was a poor demand for dairy cattle and a heavy entry of pigs. Prices for porkers showed an easing tendency. There was a keen sale for vealers. Quotations: - Sheep. Fat two-tooth wethers, 22s 3d. 23s 9d; heavyweights, 21s to 225; prime Down ewes, 15s 9d;' prime crossbred. 12s. 14s; fat, 9s 6d, Ils 6d; light, 7s, 8s 6d; fat lambs, 18s 6d. 20s; light. 15s 6d, 17s 6d; wether lambs, to 13s 4d; b.f. lambs, to 14s sd; fat and forward f.m. wethers, 20s; fattening ewes, 3s 6d, 4s 2d. Cattle.—Fat R.P. cows, 17 7s, 17 10s; heifers, 17 7s 6d; fat ex-dairy cows, £4, 14 10s; 20-months crossbred steers, 12 13s, 13 8s 6d. 14 17s; ditto, heifers, 12 11s. 13 3s: store Jersey cows, 11 10s, 13; empty Jersey heifers, 12 10s, 13; calved dairy cows, to 18; dairy cows. July calvers, 18; backward Jersey heifers, 15 ss.
