OHINGAITI RETURNED SOLDIERS
ANNUAL REUNION The annual reunion of the Ohingaiti Returned Soldiers was held in the Memorial Hall on May 23, this function being voted the “best ever.”
Over 50 members, including members from Taihape and Mangaweka, were present. Mr. P. Brooks, president, and Mr. J. McKnight, secretary, kept the ball rolling and are to be congratulated on the splendid arrangements made, which contributed largely to the success of the evening. Thanks are due. too. to the “Mess Orderlies.” to Mr. and Mrs. Holden and staff, and to all those who kindly make donations to the good cause. Repeatedly. the entertainers were obliged to respond to encores, but Mr. McKnight “brought down the house” with his rendering of a story without words “Auld Lang Syne” came al! too soon, with a few thinking it a long time to the next reunion, one which will, no doubt, be well acquainted, too. with the feathered vocabulary for miles round.
