18,000-TON VESSEL WITH TROOPS ON BOARD ACTION IN MEDITERRANEAN CRAFT ALSO TORPEDOED London, May 28 British submarines have sunk an 18,000-ton enemy troopship in the Mediterranean, moving in a southerly direction towards Libya. It is thought she had about 3000 enemy troops on board. A French tanker of 5000 tons has been torpedoed and probably sunk. Another tanker has been torpedoed and sunk. It is learned that an Italian destroyer, reported last Friday as being probably sunk, has been sunk.
