REPORTS ABOUT MARTINIQUE ORDERS TO PREPARE FOR U.S. ATTACK. (Recd. 9.30 p.m.) Wshington, May 22. The Secretary of State, Mr. Cordell Hull, described as pro-German inspired reports from France that Martinique officials had received orders to prepare for an American attack. He asserted that there had been no recent developments in Martinique and no immediate concern was felt there. The United States, he said, had observers on the island who kept the Government informed closely regarding conditions there.—U.P.A.
