WAVERLEY NOTES
ST. STEPHEN’S CHURCH ANNUAL MEETING The annual meeting of parishioners of St. Stephen's Church, Waverley, was held on Wednesday evening. There was a good attendance, over which the Rev. P. A. Stanley presided. In presenting his report, the vicar congratulated parishioners on the progress made during the year from both a religious and a financial standpoint. Attendances at all services were much larger than in the previous year.
The finances were reported to be in a healthy state, largely as the result of a marked increase in donations and a successful sale of work conducted by the women’s committee. The statement of receipts and payments presented by the treasurer showed a surplus of about £l3O to carry forward to the ensuing year. Officers elected were: —Synodsman, Mr. A. G. Wallace; people's warden, Mr. H. S. Barrow; hon. treasurer, Mr. F. Sheppard; vestry, Messrs. A. G. Wallace, H. Boyer, S. Morris, F. Sheppard, R. Roberts, J. Newland, S. Bromiley and J. F. Wilson. Mr. C. J. Dickie is vicar's warden.
