BRILLIANT DISPLAY OF FLOWERS

TUTAENUI W.D.F.U. LIST OF PRIZE WINNERS (Own Correspondent.) Beautiful weather favoured the Tutaenui branch of the Women's Division of the N.Z.F.U. for their annual flower show at the Tutaenui Hall yesterday. The exhibits in all classes made .an exceptionally good display, and the judge (Mr. D. Conway) considered that the cut flowers were of a high order and the vegetables and fruit were right up to high-standard mark. Mrs. J. A. Harris, provincial president of the Wellington Centre, opening the show, said that she was delighted to see a small country show with such a wealth of beautiful blooms. The decorative section showed an artistic finish of a veryhigh order, and she congratulated the promoters on such a fine display of blooms. Mrs. Harris also judged the decorative classes. Mrs. G. G. Oliver, who has been president for fou shows, efficiently controlled the efforts of the committee, whilst Mrs. F. R. H. Brice, as secretary, and Mrs. Percy Smith, as treasurer, carried out the clerical duties in a manner that left nothing to be desired. The produce and cake stalls and the afternoon tea were liberally patronised. Mrs. P. Miller, who was the first president of the show, and was a visitor from Masterton, was very pleased to see the progress that the show had made in a few years. CHAMPION BLOOMS Dahlias.—Mrs. Sutton.
