NO LIGHTS MUST SHOW TO SEA

WELLINGTON DECISION LIGHTED SIGNS TO BE DISCONNECTED [ Per Frees Association. ] WELLINGTON, Feb. 26. Wellington is to be blacked out from the open sea. The steps necessary have been taken by the Mayor, Mr. T. C. A. Hislop, under the authority of the Lighting Restrictions Emergency Regulations. Windows which directly face the sea are to be unlighted and any light, outdoor or otherwise, which so reflects as to cause glare that is to be visible from the sea will have to be so protected that it ceases to do so. Proprietors of gaseous discharge tubing and incandescent advertising signs or other illuminations are required to disconnect them forthwith.
