CONTROL OF LIGHTS

APPLICABLE ALL OVER DOMINION SAME PROCEDURE AS IN WELLINGTON [ Per Press Association. ] WELLINGTON, Feb. 26. Exactly the same restrictions will be applied to the rest of New Zealand, said the Dominion lighting controller, Mr. F. T. M. Kissel, when asked to-night if the measures announced by the Mayor for the control of lighting in Wellington were to be enforced elsewhere. Mr. Kissel said he had delegated his powers to Mr. Hislop as chairman of the Emergency Precautions Organisation for Wellington. The executive officer for the administration of these powers in Wellington was Mr. L. B. Hutton. Delegation of powers, similar to that granted Mr. Hislop had been sent to chairmen of other emergency precautions organisations in the Dominion and the same procedure would apply to the rest of the Dominion. (See earlier message on page 6.)

Controller of lights in Wanganui is Mr. H. Webb,’ engineer of the Wan-ganui-Rangitikei Electric Power Board, and he has already intimated publicly that control of lighting, particularly that visible at sea. is in hand.
