SNOW FALLING IN ALBANIA
ANTI-AIRCRAFT DEFENCES ITALIAN PLANES SHOT DOWN Received Feb. 26. 10.25 p.m. LONDON. Feb 25. Snow is falling in the Albanian mountains. Activity in the battle zor.e is also impeded by rain and fog. but the Greeks carried out small-scale operations with satisfactory results. Anti-aircraft guns on the northern front winged an Italian bomber, which made a forced landing. Six of the crew were taken prisoners. Three other bombers were so seriously damaged that it is unlikely that they regained their base. Another Italian plane shot down in the coastal sector fell into the sea and was towed to shore by the Greeks. Four of the crew were taken prisoner. Greek fighters in the central sector shot down two enemy machines aid seriously damaged a third. Twenty thousand prisoners in Greece include 551 officers.
MALTA (Tues.).—R.A.F. fighters shot down two Dorniers into the sea and it is believed they destroyed a third. LONDON (Tuesday).—A Government spokesman in Athens said that the Greeks last week captured 1272 Italians, including 30 officers, while repulsing 16 counter-attacks with heavy enemy casualties. They also secured a large amount of war material. Greek airmen shot down six enemy planes without suffering loss.
