MANGAWEKA NOTES

CONCERT PARTY SENT TO WAIOURU CAMP (Own Correspondent.) A hearty reception was given the Mangaweka concert party organised by Mr. G. Salt, which travelled to Waiouru Military Camp. The programme was opened with a march played by Piper Phyn Mclntyre. Popular items were the songs and ballets by Mrs. Mcßae’s pupils, led by Mrs. H. Dalrymple, the frocks being an especially bright feature. Mrs. McKnight's humour was much enjoyed, also items by Mesdames Brewer and Oates, Misses Gardner and Mahoney, and Highland dances were given by Miss Betty Mclntyre. Mr. McKnight and Mr. Anderson also contributed towards the programme. At the end of the concert Captain Liggett asked the audience to show their appreciation, which was done by three hearty cheers. The party was afterwards entertained by the officers of the 3rd. Auckland Regiment in their mess room, supper and dancing bringing the evening to a very happy conclusion.
