ANNUAL MEETING HELD (Own Correspondent,) The anual meeting of the Waimarino branch of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union was held at Cunningham’s Hall, Raetihi, on Saturday night. Mr. H. E. Frederick presided over an attendance of about 30 members. Also present were Messis. A. P. O'Shea (Dominion secretary of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union), W. I-lorrobin (Dominion treasurer), T. Currie (Wanganui provincial president) and A. R. Donaldson (provincial secretary). Mr. C. G. Houghton was elected a member of the branch. A vote of sympathy was extended to Mr. N. Cave, a member of the branch who is seriously ill in the Wanganui Public Hospital. The election of officers resulted as follows-. —Chairman, Mr. H. E. Frederick; vice-chairmen, Messrs. D. F. Scarrow and H. P. O’Neill; secretary, Mr. W. Jack. Owing to the lateness of the hour the election of further office-holders was deferred until the next meeting. The main portion of the meeting was taken up in a conference between

’the New Zealand Union officials and members of the branch, who felt that they had grievances which requiree ventilation. A report appears elsewhere. The meeting closed later than midnight, with a vote of thanks to the members of the Womens Div is.on. who had provided a bounteous supper. I 1
