ON HAWERA TRACKS

Grindlay, over four fences, the mare showing satisfactory aptitude in her jumping. Resingold (W. Grindlay) skipped over one fence, afterwards doing a round of pace work and finishing in good style over the last two furlongs in 265. Vai Pere, who is improving rapidly, finished his pace by galloping half a miles, in 51 2-ss. Miss Phaleron (Reilly) ran three furlongs in 38s. High Tone, who played up in her race on Saturday, was allotted steady pace work. Southern Blood (Cole), looking much improved by his racing, did solid pace work.
