EXPLANATION OF RECENT LIST MEN ON LONG-RANGE PATROL [ Par Press Association. | WELLINGTON, Feb. 12. An explanation of the casualty list published on Monday reporting that several members of the Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force in the Middle East had been killed in action and some taken prisoner was given yesterday by the Minister of Defence, Hon.*F. Jones. He said the information he had received about these casualties was that they occurred in the South Libyan desert while the men were on patrol. '‘AU I know so far is that these men were attached to a longrange desert group on patrol in that area,” he stated.
