SPAIN AND ITALY
TWO DICTATORS TO MEET Received Feb. 12, 5.5 p.m. LONDON, Feb. 11. A message from Vichy states that General Franco (Dictator of Spain) and Senor Suner (Spanish Foreign Minister) passed through France to-day en route to confer with Signor Mussolini, and will meet Marshal Petain (head of the French State) on the return journey. Marshal Petain has left for the Riviera. It is expected that Admiral Darlan will accompany him when he meets General Franco. It is denied in Berlin that Hitler will attend the meeting between Franco and Mussolini, which, it is thought, will take place at Genoa. Received Feb. 12, 9.40 p.m. ZURICH, Feb. 11. It is reliably stated that General Franco is expected to oppose any proposals that Spain enter the war on the grounds of the economic situation.
