A war councillor and former Naval Minister, Admiral Mineo Osumi, was apparently killed in an aeroplane crash in South China on Wednesday, during an inspection tour. The navy announced that searching planes on Thursday discovered that lhe plane had crashed on tne Huancjanshan Mountain, near the Sikiang River. There were ten aboard the plane, including, besides Admiral Osunu, Kear-Aamiral Hikojiro Suga, three other officers and lour members of a crew, A rescue party reached the wreckage but refused further information. CHUNGKING, Feb. 8. Documents revealing that Admiral Osumi, accompanied by a staff, was proceeding to Hainan to assume the post of commander-in-chief of the joint fleet in the Soutn Seas, were seized by the Chinese when an aeroplane was shot down by Chinese guerrillas near Chungsnan. Altogethct nine bodies were found in the plane, including those of Admiral Osumi and Rear-Admiral Suga and three commanders.
